WCAB's Second Annual
Artful Bowl of Soup and
Classical Music Fundraiser

WCAB’s Second Annual “Artful Bowl of Soup and Classical Music Event Fundraiser” will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Chez Marche Café Downtown Waupaca. This year, we will have hand-painted bowls for the soup, and music from Russian composers played by the best classical musicians in the Waupaca area. And yes, there will be Borscht!!!
This is another WCAB participatory event! To prepare for this event, we need to paint some bowls for the soup!
And we need your help!
Come down to the Waupaca Community Arts Center at 200 North Main Street on the following dates to paint a soup bowl that will be used the night of the event to hold the delicious soup, as well as help us raise some funds for our artistic endeavors!
The dates to paint bowls are as follows:
Wed., March 18 - 10:30 to 7:30
Thurs., March 19 - 10:30 to 7:30
Sat. March 21 - 11am to 4:30pm
No experience required. There is no charge to paint a bowl. Come on down and take part in this fun preparatory event!
WCAB’s Second Annual
“Artful Bowl of Soup and Classical Music Event Fundraiser”
will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Chez Marche Café Downtown Waupaca. The evening will be a celebration of Russian, and other, composers. There will be a variety of musicians performing in the main concert, which begins at 7pm, this year:

Inne Choi
Wanda Eikenbary
Marci Beaucoup
Martha Duerr and Jennifer Burton
There will also be a number of Advanced student performances, including Anna Kirk, Tori Block, and Kari Esbensen and the Youth Community Chamber group.
Advanced students will be performing between the hours of 4 and 6pm, with the main concert starting at 7pm.
Music of Aram Khatchaturian, Dimitri Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and others will be played on piano and strings, as patrons dine on a variety of soups with a Russian flair, including authentic Russian Borscht, topped off with Russian pastries and desserts. Dinner includes your choice of 3 soups, dinner rolls and authentic Russian cookies. Drinks and other Russian desserts are extra.
The bowls that the soup will be served in will be painted by various community members during the month of March.
The cost of the event is $11 for dinner and music without an art bowl, $16 for dinner and concert with a bowl. There will be limited “standing room only” music only tickets as room is available for $6 each.
