Irish Wake
March 14, 2009

All are invited to partake in this Traditional Waupaca
fun, musical, theatrical, meaningful and mobile event!

This year we are honoring Roger Greene, who was the key Farmer’s Market vendor for many years downtown Waupaca.  Roger’s family will join us to kick off the evening from the Chez Marche.

People can join the Wake at any point on the Wake Route.

The music will be outstanding this year!

The route will be as follows:
7pm:  start at Chez Marche Café.
Around 8:15:  travel to Paca Pub
Around 8:45 or 9:  arrive at T.W. Martin’s
Around 10pm:  end up at Weasel’s Restaurant

Wear your mourning clothes (black!) and walking shoes,
and bring the name of someone dearly departed that you would like
to add to the Honor Roll. We will read the list at every stop on the route. Names may be submitted in advance via e-mail:  wpirishwake@yahoo.com

You may also choose to let go of something:  forgive someone, forgive yourself, and start anew…write out your forgiveness and add this bit of letting go to the coffin.

Songbooks will be available this year!

There is, as always, no charge for this event.  Everyone is welcome.  Of course, we would never turn down a kind donation to the Waupaca Community Arts Board, and tithing envelopes will be provided…

Wear your mourning clothes and be prepared to sing out!

Not I Gently Rise and Softly Call, Goodnight and Joy Be To You All”
