“Poetry for a Shared World”

Poetry Contest Criteria

  • Must be original poetry. All forms and lengths of poetry are accepted.

  • Content must be appropriate for general public and public viewing spaces.

  • No religious, political, graphically violent or overtly sexual content.

  • Provide translation, if submitted in a language other than English.

  • Poets 6 years old thru adult may submit a poem. Parental consent for children is required.

  • Poets may submit only one poem per person.

  • Poet retains copyright of poem.

  • By submitting a poem, permission is given to use it for promotional, documentary, or celebratory purposes.

  • If you do not wish to submit a poem on our online form, you can bring a handwritten or printed copy of your poem to the Waupaca Public Library, Marked- Attn: Laura Jandacek.

  • Poetry submissions accepted from March 1st - April 4th.

  • Three selected winners will be notified on April 20th.

  • Gift card prizes will be awarded to the winners!

  • Poetry contest winners will be invited to read their poems at our Poetry Reading & Open Mic Night event on April 29th.
