The Waupaca Community Arts Board (WCAB) offers several ways for folks to volunteer and get involved in supporting local arts and culture. As a nonprofit organization founded in 2005, WCAB is run completely by volunteers who work together to promote community building through the arts in the Waupaca area. Listed below are the needs we have for each event. We strive to provide a supportive environment where you can actually see and feel how your help positively impacts the lives in our community!

Volunteer Needs for Each Event—

  • Volunteers will take tickets at the door, apply wristbands, usher attendees to their seats/seating area, monitor doors for attendees coming and going from the event, and provide information about the event. Incentive to Volunteer: free attendance to the event.

  • Volunteers will sell beverage tickets (must be 21 years of age), help with setting up and taking down signs, musician tent, help facilitate the provided Family Art Project activity, and general clean-up after the event. Able-bodied folks are needed to help with putting up musician tent and take-down at the end of the night. Incentive to volunteer: Free drink ticket.

  • Volunteers are needed to help with setting up and taking down activities for that particular day/event and help as directed by a WCAB Board member. Events take place each day and needs may vary based on the event. ARTicipation Week offers a fun opportunity to get to know others in your community.

  • Volunteers are needed who are able-bodied to set up pop-up tents, tables, and chairs while working as a team. This set up is also in preparation for Arts on the Square that happens the following day. Volunteers will also be needed to empty garbage/recycling receptacles and clearing tables during the event. We also need folks to sell beer tickets and bartend at the beverage tent. A licensed bartender will be on-site at all times.

  • AOTS is our biggest event and requires lots of help!

Craft Cafe Workshops- Volunteers will help with the Craft Cafe activities for 2-hour shifts. Workshop volunteers help with distribution of materials and demonstrating the activity to the general public. Complete instructions and guidance will be provided on-site including all supplies needed for the activity at the start of your shift. Workshop volunteers may also be asked to assist artists who are doing demonstrations if the artist needs assistance and the Craft Cafe is slow. All workshops are free, outside and under cover, rain or shine. 2-3 volunteers are needed for each 2-hour time slot.

Info Booth- Volunteers will provide communication with folks seeking directions or information about the event. An email will be sent with details if you help with the info booth prior to the event. Board member, Cindy will provide a short training session on what to expect, also a week prior. This training session includes a look at the AOTS map to familiarize volunteers with the grounds, lineup of performers, artist booth set-up, etc.

Beer & Wine Sales- Volunteers will be helping sell beverage tickets. Instructions will be given on-site. There will be a licensed bartender on-site to distribute drinks. Must be 21 years of age to volunteer.
